I done been through all emotions, from in shock, to keepin a poker face
to straight breakin down and showin all emotions
I'm anxious to believe in real G's don't cry
If that's the truth, then I'm realizin I ain't no gangsta
It's just not me, but you know I'ma always ride wit you
I miss you, sometimes I wish I just died wit you
to straight breakin down and showin all emotions
I'm anxious to believe in real G's don't cry
If that's the truth, then I'm realizin I ain't no gangsta
It's just not me, but you know I'ma always ride wit you
I miss you, sometimes I wish I just died wit you
Hip Hop uses urban and violent language, yes, we get it, most people can't relate to it, and associate it with crime. What you have to understand is that Hip Hop does comes from an uneducated, and violent culture: ghettos. And yet, through that direct, violent language, rappers express real emotions, real messages, I mean really meaningful shit. More than any other genre of music, I can assure you.
It's real poetry. It's just not from your typical born in a gold crib educated elite asshole. (I'm looking at you Miguel Sousa Tavares)
The fixation with money and bitches? Look, from what I understand, you can only make money and leave the trap of the ghettos 3 ways: sports, music, drugs. Education is not an option. So when someone leaves the ghetto and finally has money to spend, they tend to exaggerate. And it's not only musicians.
Another great example of such a great message (using a known sample phrase from MLK):
At the end of the day, you either like it or you don't (if everyone liked the color blue, what would happen to yellow?), but don't go hating something out of pure ignorance.
