Seriously now...

I'm an atheist, sure, but I think the Bible has some good stuff in there.

It's a good book.

If you forget some fictional characters and some BS stories, you have great knowledge there. Funny fact: I had a very Christian upbringing, and I only started reading passages from there AFTER my conversion to Atheism and at some Atheists recommendation, as it was the book they got reassurance to the fact there was nothing after death! Weird, innit?

Also, truly Christian people are the nicest people to have around (not those fake ones who know nothing of their founder - those make me nauseous). Then again, like most Atheists, these true Christians don't make a lot of noise, don't gloat because they're this or that, and don't impose their view on anybody, so they go by unnoticed. If asked, they'll give their opinion on the matter, if not, they'll go on with their life.

This sums up what I'm saying:

What's my opinion, you ask? (You didn't, but for this post's sake I'll say it anyway...)

I don't think there is a God because I don't feel there is one. There. Simple. If God existed, there would be very clear proof of him. We wouldn't have to spend all of our short precious lives wondering if he exists and which is the right religion to get to Him. And never finding the truth...! Nobody knows, ever! It's impossible to know for sure. (because he's a product of our imagination...!)

Anyway... Why I love so much to bash religion? Because religion makes people believe in talking snakes, in immaculate conceptions, in a boat with all the animals in the world inside, in an evil red man with a pitchfork... It's delusional, and it's funny.

There's also that very important function of humor: take the seriousness from things. You have to take seriousness from religion, because if you don't, radicals and fundamentalists take over. If you don't remind these people that "it's okay to believe in magic, but it's kind of silly, so, take it easy", pretty soon you have inquisitions or people flying planes into buildings.

That's kind of a long post. I'll try to make sure these are rare.
